At JDog, sustainable junk removal is something we take great pride in. 60-80% of what we haul away is either recycled, reused, or repurposed, in order to keep as many items out of the landfill as possible. In celebration of Earth Day, are sharing how some JDog locations are helping their communities by donating, composting, and upcycling to find new uses for items that would have otherwise ended up in a landfill.

JDog Junk Removal & Hauling Athens

Our JDog Junk Removal & Hauling Athens team recently had a customer who finished their home renovation project and didn’t have a place to store the good building material at their home. They called JDog Athens to haul it away. Instead of taking it to a landfill, the team donated the wood and building material to the Wildlife Critters Circle of Life Rehabilitation Center which offers a safe place for injured or sick animals to heal and grow stronger. The materials went toward shoring up shelters and safe recovery areas for wildlife and critters.

JDog Junk Removal & Hauling Ocean City Maryland

JDog Junk Removal & Hauling Ocean City Maryland realized they were hauling away numerous bikes from customers. They found a home for all of the old bikes that would have otherwise been scrapped. They donated them to Ready To Ride Pre-Owned and Vintage Bicycles to be refurbished for their customers! For the bikes that could not be fixed, the company donates them to Bikes for the World where they are shipped overseas to facilitate transportation and education in underprivileged regions.

JDog Junk Removal & Hauling Ocean City Maryland

This past fall, JDog Junk Removal & Hauling Ocean City, MD worked with Go Green OC on a composting initiative that took place after Halloween. The goal was for residents to throw away organic Halloween decorations, such as pumpkins, hay bales, and corn stalks, in JDog’s composting dumpster.
