8 Fall Decluttering Tips
What to Toss this Season

Autumn is quickly approaching—and all the cool weather and holidays that come with it. It’s time to declutter some summer leftovers and prepare for the end of the year. Here are some fall decluttering tips to help you get organized this season.
Fall Decluttering Tips
A seasonal change is a wonderful reminder to declutter. As you’re transitioning your wardrobe and home holiday decor, take some time to discard or donate items you no longer use.
- Grilling supplies. Discard rusty tools, empty propane tanks (at a designated facility), and old marinades.
- Clear the cabinets. Toss expired spices, mismatched storage containers, and donate old useable bakeware to make room for holiday cooking.
- Water bottles. Throw away whatever leaks or is missing components. Recycle what you can.
- Office supplies. Clear out accumulated paperwork and freshen your workspace for fall.
- Excess electronics. Get rid of old or broken accessories, outdated devices, and mystery cords.
- Fall fashion that no longer fits. Try on cold-weather clothing to see what’s outgrown or no longer your style.
- Mildewed toys. Dispose toys that got moldy and/or broken from the bath, pool, or beach.
- Holiday decor. As you swap summer items for fall, check all your seasonal decor for anything broken or that you haven’t displayed in a while.
Celebrate a new season with a clean, refreshed space. Remember to toss anything that’s unfixable, recycle what you can, and donate gently used items.
